The Instruments of the Drum set.

We tend to think of the drums as a single instrument. In fact it is a collection of percussion instruments. Those drums and cymbals that now, and in the past, can be played as individual instruments. We can still see snare drummers drumming in a parade band. See someone playing toms or bass drum in a marching band and see an orchestral percussionist clap two cymbals together at the end of a crescendo!

While we do have music classes all year round, our main ‘season’ of lessons is September  to June. This year that means they start September 5th. It is the first day after Labour Day. Many families have already registered but good class times are still available.

While we start music classes in September, you can register and start anytime.  The earlier you register the better your selection of class times!

We teach Piano Singing Guitar Violin Ukulele Drums Bass Flute Theory and Improvisation.

All of our teachers have music degrees and cleared background checks.

We take students from 5 years of age all the way to adults. We teach everything from complete beginners to seasoned players to those entering university music programs.

We are located in the Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre, so you can shop Safeway Shoppers Drug Mart M & M Meats MBLC BMO Star Bucks Vita Health and more.

We have plenty of parking and are wheelchair accessible.

Unlike a lot of lessons centres that shut down or shift focus in the summer months, we are still open and teaching private classes for music. We are teaching piano voice and guitar as well as drums and violin during the months of July and August.

Prime spots are also filling up for the fall so come in and register as soon as you can. During the summer we are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday  from 4-7 but you can call 240-487-3664 or write info@riverheightsmusicschool.com anytime!
