What else can we call it? The stuff we are doing during the COVID-19 run.
Following the Provincial Guidelines
First off we are following the provincial guidelines and we know our families will do the same. They are all smart, responsible and reasonable people. So we don’t feel need to repeat the stuff that has been repeated so many times already and from so many sources.
We are limiting the number of people in the space as well as each room.
If you are bringing a child, the ideal thing would be to drop them off for their lesson and come back. We get that it might not be ideal and that maybe your child is too young to do that so, 1 parent sitting in on the lesson is fine.
For older students, teens and adult students, it would be best if they came to the school alone.
In either case it is preferred that you do not come too early. Please wait in the hall if you see a bottle neck at student turn over times (top and bottom of the hour) and not hang around (or leave your child) after.
We have tape, stickers, shields and signs all over the place. Spaces in the rooms are demarcated to indicate the 6’+ distances for teacher and student. Because of these precautions and because we follow the school board directives; masks are optional for staff and students as physical distancing is easily achieved.
The waiting area is disinfected between uses, the pianos, music stands and contact points are disinfected between students and the whole place gets wiped down with bleach based cleaners at the start of each day.
While most people are gladly taking the in-person lessons as outlined above, we do still offer the video lesson.
The video lesson is not just for corona concerns but for the right student and situation, it can be a convenience.
